Graduation Project - 2023 Palladiana is a collection, a museum of witnesses who decided to walk on a path without knowing the destination, like an ocean liner sailing in a fog bank, with its horn blasting so loud but softened by the thick haze. Palladiana is a map, a library of places, of temples that everyone portrayed created for themselves in the attempt to create a safe space, guarded fiercely or opened to the unknown eye, a place where they can seek shelter during the storms that in the concrete sea of the city hit so much harder. Palladiana is album, a yearbook of students, and it shows the faces of the one who chose Milan. Maybe for a few years, maybe for a lifetime. Palladiana is the name of an ancient paving technique, which consist in collecting various fragments of marble and freezing them under a smooth layer. I like to think the transfer students of Milan as those marvellous pieces of stone, all different, that alone would be nothing more than sharp gravel and instead create a mosaic when together. And that’s what Palladiana does.
